One of the key advantages to an Enterprise Knowledge Graph is the ability to launch your graph quickly and iterate over time. Today, we’re shortening that development time even further with the introduction of form-based editing to the Models hub in Studio v1.24.0.

Everything you need, all in one place

This latest release addresses a common concern we hear regarding Enterprise Knowledge Graph: developing an enterprise-wide data model. Many think this is a prerequisite to launching an Enterprise Knowledge Graph, and the undertaking seems expensive and time-consuming. They wonder where they’ll get the resources and if they’ll need to hire dedicated ontologists.

We’re here to say that this could not be further from the truth. In fact, you only need to define as many concepts as needed for your particular use case. And as your business needs change, your models can adapt to meet new requirements thanks to the flexibility of the graph.

This latest Studio release makes the process of building a model to meet your first use case even easier. For users new to Enterprise Knowledge Graphs, it allows you to build a schema quickly using an intuitive interface. You can import an existing OWL-based model and modify it, or create a new model right in Studio. For experienced users, the Models hub allows you to easily edit existing models without using another tool.

Over time, you can expect to see additional functionality added to this hub, such as rule management, which will allow you to additionally modify everything that describes your data.

The updated Models hub provides several features to simplify the process of creating and maintaining your model. Most notably, the new form-based editors facilitate adding and modify Classes, Relationships, and Attributes. Advanced options are provided to view IRIs and add labels in other languages.

You will continue to be able to modify constraints via the Constraints tab. And for those who are more comfortable with a text experience, the Text Editor tab provides the complete text version of your model.

Once finished with your model, you can see a visualization in the Overview tab.
