Stardog, the leader in Enterprise Knowledge Graph technology, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed former Opower executive Michael Sachse as Chief Executive Officer effective June 25, 2018.

Stardog co-founder Kendall Clark will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer on June 25, 2018. Dr. Evren Sirin will assume the role of Chief Scientist on June 25, 2018.

“This is a great moment for Michael to become the next CEO. Over the last two years, we’ve demonstrated that Stardog has a massive opportunity, and we’re excited to have Michael lead us through the next phase of growth,” said Clark. “Michael has been involved with Stardog since the beginning of the year, and we are already benefiting from his contributions. His vision, strategy, and execution track record are exactly what Stardog needs as we scale.”

“Stardog is solving one of the biggest unsolved problems in the enterprise,” said Sachse. “Every large company struggles to manage its data. The increasing proliferation of data and data management systems makes data visibility both increasingly important and increasingly difficult. Stardog’s Enterprise Knowledge Graph offers an elegant, faster, and more affordable solution to this massive problem. The team has made remarkable progress, and I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead the company as it accelerates its growth.”

Prior to joining Stardog, Sachse was an executive at Opower. He joined Opower as Head of Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel, where he led the development of Opower’s widely admired regulatory strategy while guiding the company through IPO as its chief lawyer. After Opower’s IPO, Sachse became its Chief Marketing Officer, where his responsibilities included marketing, partnerships, and regulatory affairs. Sachse remained in that role until the company was acquired by Oracle. He left Oracle to become an entrepreneur-in-residence at New Enterprise Associates.
