Stardog, the leading provider of Enterprise Knowledge Graph technology, today announced the release of Stardog Sandbox, a free, hosted environment built to make knowledge graphs more accessible. Stardog Sandbox allows users to experiment with queries, mappings, and capabilities with no installation, setup, or configuration.
The first Sandbox release includes pre-built datasets and queries for finance, films, and clinical trials. Users can explore the Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) to gain insight into how financial instruments, business entities, and financial processes work across the industry. Also available are data sources compiling movie releases, office box earnings and film stars, as well as biomedical vocabulary produced by the National Library of Medicine. Over time, Stardog will add more public datasets and functionality to the Sandbox.
“Our community has asked us to provide a hosted learning testing ground and we listened,” said Stardog CEO, Michael Sachse. “Sandbox will allow our community to experiment, learn, and build their skills. Knowledge graphs are going to be a core part of enterprise infrastructure, and Sandbox is a great way for programmers to get started.”
Knowledge graphs allow users to unify siloed data and draw connections with high flexibility and reusability. As an emerging technology, many programmers are still learning the fundamentals of this powerful platform. To aid in the development of new technical skills, the Stardog Sandbox enables users to gradually learn how to connect data, run queries, and transform data with reasoning.
In the months ahead, Stardog will add more functionality to the Sandbox including virtualization capabilities, machine learning, new pre-built datasets, and an unstructured data unification and processing engine. To provision a Sandbox server for use, click here.
Stardog’s knowledge graph platform allows large enterprises to connect, query, and retrieve data of all structures, schemas, and velocities. Stardog partners with industry leaders like BNY Mellon, Bosch, NASA, and more. Stardog is a privately held, venture-backed company headquartered in Arlington, VA.
