Did you know Stardog Studio is available from any web browser?

Same experience, new access point

Stardog Studio is designed to make accessing and developing in Stardog easy, and we’re making it even easier to access Stardog Studio! Simply type https://stardog.studio into a browser and you’re ready to go. As an added bonus when using Stardog Studio in the browser you will always see our Stardog Express as a Saved Connection option. Stardog Express is our Cloud Starter Kit, a free, hosted environment that includes Stardog Studio. Perfect for beginners, Stardog Express includes pre-built datasets, sample SPARQL queries, and interactive tutorials.

As is the case in the Stardog Studio application, the browser version of Stardog Studio comes with a quick welcome tour if you’re new (or just need a refresher)! There are a few differences between the desktop version and the in-browser version; for example, the browser version does not have access to your file system. Our documentation includes more information about these differences.

Beyond easy access and always having the latest Studio release, you can expect to see new features introduced which are aligned to experiencing Studio from your browser. For example, we are working on a new repository connection workflow to make it easier to manage files for versioning and release control.

What else do I need to know?

  • If you’re not able to access https://stardog.studio for any reason, such as a firewall restriction, you can run your own copy via our preconfigured Stardog Studio Docker image. Our initial blog post about Studio in the browser highlighted how to access via Docker. There is more information on how to get started in our documentation.
  • Worried about security? No data is sent to our servers when accessing Studio in-browser. All requests are sent directly from your browser to your Stardog server.
  • In-browser Studio officially supports the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox.

The Stardog Studio documentation includes more detailed information on these items.
