Fast Company names Stardog the 7th Most Innovative Company among Enterprises

Mar 10, 2020

Arlington, Va., (March 10, 2020) — Fast Company today announced its 2020 Most Innovative Companies list, naming Stardog, the creator of the leading Enterprise Knowledge Graph platform, as the 7th Most Innovative Company in the Enterprise category.

The list honors the businesses making the most profound impact on both industry and culture, showcasing a variety of ways to thrive in today’s fast-changing world. Stardog was recognized for its commitment to addressing customers’ needs as their data becomes increasingly complex and distributed.

“Stardog launched the first Enterprise Knowledge Graph platform and we are delighted to be recognized for our continued innovation,” said Kendall Clark, Stardog’s CEO. “Stardog is uniquely positioned to transform enterprise data into powerful knowledge for situational awareness and decision intelligence.”

A knowledge graph’s unique combination of graph, AI and virtualization allows for disparate data to be unified with its real-world context. Knowledge graph technology was first popularized by Google Search’s knowledge graph in 2012. In 2019, knowledge graphs were listed on Gartner’s Hype Cycles for Emerging Technologies as a tool “forming the bridge between humans and technology.”

Using Stardog’s platform, companies across financial services, life sciences, manufacturing and the public sector are able to unlock access to knowledge. For example, NASA uses an Enterprise Knowledge Graph to support missions to the Moon and Mars. With Stardog, NASA engineers can ask iterative questions, explore data, and examine the impact of changes throughout the mission from the earliest flight modeling stages to launch and beyond.

In 2019, Stardog delivered monthly product releases to make knowledge graphs more usable, performant and scalable. The August release of version 7.0 featured up to 20x write improvements. Stardog also debuted a BI/SQL Server to connect to popular business intelligence platforms including Tableau and Power BI. Finally, Stardog added Edge Property functionality to bridge the gap between RDF and property graphs.

Fast Company’s editors and writers sought out the most groundbreaking businesses on the planet and across myriad industries. They also judged nominations received through their application process.
