We used to live in a world in which documents didn’t really count as data, much less emails, or texts, chats, meeting records, transcripts, etc. Today everything matters and our data management systems have not evolved to deal with this vast influx of data often siloed across an enterprise, and composed of incompatible formats, rates of change, and schemas.

Stardog founder and CTO Kendall Clark explains why we need to think hard about what kind of data management techniques and systems we employ to make sure that they have kept up with the evolution of data. Although modern IT has successfully connected vast systems into networks and internetworks that can “talk to each other”, now we need to make sure that the data within them can do the same.
